and the timing differs so much.. it feels like i'm almost cheating.. haha.. the best timing i had with the thick offroad tires is 54min, whereas i did 49min ytd with the new 1.25 tires.. hee.. not only are the new tires lighter, it has significantly less traction. and the shape and tire tracks allow for better aerodynamics. =)

just a few more days to go!!

really thank God for this unexpected opportunity to take part in this race.. was truly a last min decision for me, cos i thought i'm not fit enough to take part, nor have the required equipment. if not for the delay in my commencing of work in the navy, i doubt i'll reply to josh's and sky's call for more participants.. and God has truly been with me these period of time. everything fitted in together nicely, we managed to form a team and register in time, i manged to fix up my bike (and i love it so much now!), and God has given me strength and endurance to finish my trainings even though i usually do them after a tiring day at the sch lab..

ytd, as i was searching my boxes for some things (yes, i still haven't finished unpacking my stuff since i moved out of hostel.. so sad..) i lifted up my helmet to move it away. and suddenly i felt a shock running thru my arms, almost like static electricity.. haha.. then later in the afternoon when i was getting ready to go cycle round the estate again, as i lifted up the plastic cover (to keep my bike dry cos it has been raining) i heard some music start playing in my mind, like some sort of soundtrack.. then i suddenly felt energised and ready to go! i didn't even need to do stretching.. think the Initial D vcds that sky lent me was partly to blame.. haha..

cycled 28 km ytd, the most i have done so far. and my legs are aching for the first time in months.. i'm guessing that it's due to the heat. i didn't go to sch ytd, so i tried cycling at 4pm cos the race will be done under the mid-day sun. was really tiring, can feel the heat seeping out the energy from my body. but i trust that He will strengthen me when i need it this sat. =)

p.s. oh, i recorded a new best lap timing ytd!! rather surprising, considering the heat.. God is good!!

me and my bike

for the 400-plus pple who will be going down this sat to support me and my team, this is how i will look like on that day. just so that you will not be cheering the wrong cyclist.. hee.. will put up pics of my team-mates soon, and more info of the race and my number tag after tonight's briefing.

care for a ride?

hmm.. it's called "saddle", not seat.. and it seems to be a taiwanese company which used to be a OEM supplier of saddles, handlebar tape, grips and only in 2004 did they start to sell their saddles as a aftermarket purchase with the "Velo" logo on it..

here's a close-up..
wow.. didn't know that i bought such a good product.. but it's hardly comfortable though, it's more for performance. wonder if it will make a difference for me..

Spot the differences!!

spent $105 ytd at the bike shop..
So how does my modified bike look now? hmm not much changes actually. i changed the seat and the pedals. seems more pro now, but need to take a timing to find out if it really make a diff.. next week i'll change the tires, just for the triathlon..

and i finally got a helmet!! feels kinda plastic-ky and light, but i guess it should do just fine. just gotta pray that i won't fall.. the gloves are courtesy of my bro, who got them from e-mart, hee.. so it's sorta free.. thank God for SAF!!
well, now there's only less than 2 weeks to the competition.. gotta train real hard now!!

triathlon!!

yes.. i'm taking part in the singapore triathlon this yr. doing the sprint relay category, zhenrong is swimming 750m, i'm cycling 20km, and kenny will be running 5km to the finishing line..

never thought i will be doing this.. considering what i went thru at the last nus biathlon. the swimming part was such a horrific experience, with pple jostling and pushing in the water. and i was so tired after the swim that i nearly couldn't get up to run after putting on my shoes, haha.. but since cycling is something i've never done competitively, i decided to just give it a try and see what God has for me..

and this is my bike.. not a racer, but it can still be done. did 58mins for 21km ytd, not a good timing though. need to train even harder from now on..
