my longest meeting ever

yes... 5 hours... with only 10mins break in btwn... haha.. it was crazy man.. i actually felt a bit giddy after that.. so much stuff happened.. i came out in such a daze, i think sinchang was a bit worried for me.. haha...

the q&a was a bit useless i think. osa seems to be hiding behind things like "govt policies", housing allocation, procedures, etc etc.. though i don't blame them lar.. it's very difficult for them too. near the end, some pple who came uninvited started some discussion which was not the agenda for the first meeting with osa.. but never mind, since i opened up to exco, let them sit in lor... but it got a bit out of hand.. and i didn't know why i didn't step in.. didn't seem right at that pt in time.

anyway after a 10 min break, we carried on with our discussions with JCRCs. the extra pple continued to sit in, though i said i actually mind when one of them asked me.. damn stupid.. if you all insist to sit in, then what for ask if i mind??! and even after the JCRCs ask for them to leave.. make me look bad in front of hall pple.. idiots!!!!

but it turned out quite ok lar.. i think the hall pple are kinda ok with me.. i tried my best to be neutral and to look at things from both perspectives. i was more in control at the second half.. haha... and we managed to agree on 2 principles, and on the next course of action, and also the general workplan for the next 2 months.. and i think i performed much better at the second meeting.. haha.. hopefully we can work something out, which can be used.. dun wanna waste so much man-hours, and of impt student leaders.. haha.. and i just hope that there will be no more sabotage from anyone!! if not, i have to.............. *evil grin...*

oh, one good thing that happened ytd.. i bought my MP3 player!! a chio white creative micro N200.. so small and cute!! i'm so in love with it.. haha... pple, send me more mp3 ok?

long weekend? not for me..

it's such a beautiful afternoon!! and i'm alone in my room doing nothing.. hmm ok i'm trying to figure out how to use the voice recorder, then maybe take a nap, then continue my conquest of the roman empire.. but the thing is, i should be slacking at home during this wonderful long weekend!! but some idiots decide to have a meeting today.. hmm cannot blame them, they have no life anyway..

and it was a pointless meeting.. again.. i shouldn't have came, if not for the photoshoot.. oh anyway managed to talk to faizal. i asked to be a writer for the ridge. it has always been my dream (sorta) to be a writer. this seems like a good chance. i've been complaining that my brain has been degraded from a serious lack of use for the past few months. gone were the days when my mind was sharp and my spirit was strong. haha.. hmm hopefully writing articles can be a strong enough force to "jolt" me out of my current state, and invigorate me!! need to start reading more though, and practise a bit first.. though donald apparently thinks i can make it.. i hope so lar.. hmm need to cut down on lazy language, and practise proper english.. i'll start from tmr.. haha..

hmm i think someone challenged me to a fight.. or maybe i'm just misreading the email.. seems like fun though.. but i must go train up a bit.. the opponent is a tough one.. or maybe i'll bring the "fight" to council.. do it the zhuge liang way, instead of acting like zhang fei.. haha...

in the end.. we didn't get the ipod mini.. haiz... was too slow.. even though we arrived at parkway parade so early in the morning b4 all the shops were open.. short queue there when we reached harvey norman, but the personnel there told all of us that they gave out queue numbers to the first 20 who came at 6:30am.. and they will come back at 10am when harvey norman opens.. sad sad..

but i still think we could have made it.. if i had woken b4 6am and walked to 7 eleven to buy the straits times to find out the venue.. we could have tried to get a cab and pia there and hope for the best.. but everything at hindsight is always clearer.. and makes things more heartbreaking.. haiz...

went for PA meeting last night, was abt krmf. sinchang and i signed up for duty timeslots for the ticket booths, though vince told us we don't have too.. we got nothing better to do anyway.. and i can ask my frens to get the tickets when i'm there too.. but i recalled my timetable wrongly.. caused a bit of trouble now.. and i'm sure the secretary never called me over the phone b4.. hmm misunderstanding for no reason.. hope this is not a bad sign.. anyway, pple.. i'll be at the arts booth on the 24th 12-4pm. get your tickets from me there. or go register at www.krmf.net/tickets.html. get all your frens to go too!!

shopping!!

this gotta be the weirdest grocery shopping i ever did!! went to clementi NTUC with jason this afternoon. we were trying to hit $80+ worth.. so we went to every shelf to see what can be bought. our strategy was to spend as much as possible on items that can be used in the near future.. let me look at my receipt.. i bought 2 toothbrushes, toothpaste, 2 bottles of shower cream, shampoo, $11.65 worth of kit kat, more chocolates, 3 cans of tuna/salmon, eggs, snacks, drinks, etc etc.. jason bought 4 big bottles of mouthwash!! haha... damn fun..

in case you are wondering why we are doing this, it is all in the hope of getting a ipod mini for only $20!! we need a single NETS receipt of at least $80 spent btwn 8-10th jan.. but the worry is the catch.. which will only be known in tmr's straits times.. but jason and i are going to chiong whatever it is.. planning "exercise" i can't imagine giving this up.. such a good deal.. haha...

oh.. i gotta confess something.. i bought a pirated game today.. felt a bit bad abt it after buying it.. though it was a game i really wanted.. Rome:Total War.. wenhan said it's really good though.. hmm.. hopefully can learn some lessons from this.. looks interesting.. less fighting, more politics.. my type of game..

watching "meet the fockers" this thurs.. hopefully.. with a new fren. thanks jason, for letting me have your movie pass.. make it up to u some day.. maybe some kit kat? haha...

met up with liling for dinner today.. she's leaving for sweden next mon!! the same day sch starts for us here. haiz.. and she still have my lotr book, the first one.. not that i'm desperate to have it back lar.. just that recently i just have a weird feeling, of not sure where all my things are.. don't like this feeling, but it's growing inside of me.. so those of you who have my stuff, pls let me know ok? tuesdays with morrie, band of brothers, some other books and vcds etc etc... some of which i really can't remember i loaned to who...

anyway, went out with liling.. anyway today is my first day of holidays!! ended work yday.. changed my msn photo today to symbolise that, haha.. not that i did any "work".. this had to be my worst VA so far.. didn't even talk much to the pple there. somehow i felt that my brain deteriorated here.. nvm, i'm not gonna talk abt it. not even going to think abt it.. anyway, haven't seen liling for a long time.. when jason asked who i'm having dinner with, i said that it's my engin orientation fren whom i've was quite close to, but havent met for almost a yr.. which is sad, but quite true.. and now she's going to sweden for one sem.. tsk..

oh!! saw sharon at bugis.. my brother was passing my dvds to me from home, then i chanced upon her.. she has this unique ability to make me feel so wonderful everytime i see her, like the sun shining thru the fog.. haha.. anyway i must find out the name of her fren.. talked to her a few times already, yet i still dunno her.. quite paiseh abt it.. and i think i will only recognise her when she's with sharon.. damn bad of me...

gonna watch the LOTR trilogy at rachel's place.. i hope we can finish it within a day.. gonna try waking up at 7am! hah.. but what i'm pissed is that i can't watch it at home.. bcos i didn't realise that my xbox can only play region 3 dvds.. pple out there who buy original dvds, look out for the region thing, ok? i learnt this the hard way.. or the expensive way.. haha

went swimming today.. weijie war there much earlier for biathlon training.. but he saw me.. i talked to him abt my swimming b4 at kuok, and he took initiative to look at how i swam just now.. good to have pointers now and then.. he said my stroke were quite good (hee), that i could glide quite smoothly. but my left and my right strokes are not quite equal, which i admit is quite a problem.. hmm gonna start trying to breathe on both sides soon, been procrastinating this for too long.. anyway glad that i went swimming today, despite not feeling too well, and the cold weather.. very sore arms, but i really hope i can improve, or at least go back to my primary sch "flying fish" standard! hee.. =)

singapore won!! we are in the tiger cup finals!!!

i was one of those crazy pple who went to watch, despite the downpour that lasted the whole day.. and despite ocean 11 showing on channel 5.. haha... bumped into jac, fuwei (i think he just came back from france), my junior yida martin etc.. i was sitting at the open gallery, with only my brother's army poncho to ward off the elements.. but though the chill penetrated to my bones, i still felt great!! the atmosphere was wonderful, with abt 30,000 fans (my estimate).. i thought i saw more myanmar fans when we were buying tickets, it was a sea of familar red inside the stadium.. like what admiral nelson once said, "the zest for my country keep me warm!" haha how apt...

though there were many supporters, some of their actions left a sour taste.. such as booing when myanmar was singing their national anthem, making noise during the minute of silence, throwing things down towards the pitch.. sg supporters have a long way to go from being true sports lovers... but it was still quite fun.. at least we were not boring and quiet.. we derieved much pleasure from shouting at anything and everything, hurling abuse at the referee or the myanmar keeper, looking at silly pple running around.. it's been quite some time since the national stadium was this lively..

the lions won with a bit of luck.. and a bit due to stupidity on myanmar's part.. it let itself down really.. being 3 men down before regulation time was up.. giving singapore a chance to score 3 more goals in extra time.. the conditions today were real bad.. the pitch was slippery and unpredictable, the weather cold and dreary.. but at least the supporters were behind the lions!!singapore needs to put in more effort if it wants to win the finals though.. i doubt the opponent will give the match to the lions on a platter.. or do stupid things like kick mud or throw water bottles at the referee..

A new year!! a new beginning.. haha..

oh what a way to end 2004.. i went zouk with jason.. very crowded, very happening.. i had a bourbon coke.. then jason wanted graveyard, so we had a 1-for-1.. man it was potent!! had my head swirling for a while.. then we danced and did the countdown in the middle of the dancefloor.. they played imagine by john lennon again.. seems like a NYE tradition for zouk..

oh then as we were dancing, a girl asked me where i got my whistle (from the door).. chatted a bit and found out she's a jc teacher!! haha.. interesting.. just started only.. she's a member cos she used to DJ a bit for bashes.. and she was from welfare comm.. told me when i gave her my namecard.. haha.. i hope she sms me soon or something.. very interesting yah?

walked around a bit then they stopped the music and asked everyone to step outside and redo a headcount.. it was such a squeeze!! in the end we didn't go back in.. an ambulance got here, though i couldn't see why...

anyway, it was real fun lar.. long time never chiong already.. next up will be pru bash.. gonna try to get 10 frens to come.. haha!!
