finally gotten around to watching sky captain.. what an entertaining movie... what a wonderful way to end the week.. hee.... hmm but i regretted missing the opening sequence... went in 2 mins late... i think there wasn't any trailers or ads shown. read in the papers that it took 4 years for the director/writer to come up with the 6 min part. and it was this clip (which he used an old Mac to create) that started the story going, convinced jude law to be part of it.. etc etc...
though jude's law performance was not up to the high standards he set in "enemy of the gates", or "cold mountain", who cares? this isn't a movie to criticise, it's just a pure entertainment movie... anyway there's Alfie, the Aviator, Closer, Lemony Snicket, I love Huckabees... so many movies with jude law in it.. haha....
one think that's stuck to my mind: what will you take pictures of if you only have 2 frames left in your camera? film one of course hah.. that predicament was faced by Gwyneth Paltrow in the movie. she lost her extra rolls of film in a fire, and was caught out in the wilderness with just the camera. when presented with weird scenes of strange creatures or huge rocket designed to destruct the world... all that can make the front pages, she hesitated in the hope of having better pictures to take further in the journey. in the end, one shot was accidently wasted when running for her life from a flying monster... then at the end of the movie, when she could have taken a pic of all the parachutes floating down, she chose to take a pic of jude law. he gave her a bewildered expression... "lens cap" he said.. she forgot to remove her lens cap!! haha.....
next movie: 2046!!!
