the truth that most pple don't see

Awesome article here, from the Financial Times. sad that we have to rely on foreign media to get the "real" news. and to think that we (including myself) that foreign media holds an unsavoury agenda against our country, or are seditious, or have intentions to meddle in our domestic politics.. haiz..

a good article abt singapore's press, coming from papua new guinea.

I quote: " Years of control have affected Singapore’s image abroad. A survey by Reporters Without Borders last year ranked the state 140 out of 167 countries in terms of press freedom – worse than Russia or Afghanistan. The government has dismissed it as not important."

from a Reuters article published in an Indian newspaper:

“You have a political system where one-third votes for the opposition and yet only has two out of 84 seats,” said Garry Rodan, head of the Asia Research Centre at Murdoch University in Australia. "So one-third is under-represented in parliament and large numbers of those are probably losing out in the economic restructuring.”
